  6. TICKER was created to provide you hours of mindless entertainment in 
  7. in preference to doing actual work.  It is easy to use.  All you have to
  8. do is to set up the configuration as you desire once.  Ticker will save this
  9. configuration and restore it each time the program is run.

  30. *ACTIVE CATS,A
  31. Use this screen to choose those categories which are active.  Active
  32. categories will have items chosen from them and displayed, while
  33. inactive ones will be ignored.  Use a 'Y' to make a category active, and
  34. a 'N' to make it inactive.  At least one category must be active at all
  35. times.
  36. *OPT MAIN,A
  37. Use this screen to set the options of ticker.
  38. *OPT AUTO,A
  39. When this function is selected, the display will advance to the next
  40. text item in the database automatically, delaying the number of seconds
  41. given in the following item.
  42. *OPT WAIT,A
  43. This gives the number of seconds to pause before advancing to the next
  44. item in the database.  For this option to be functional, the AUTO option above
  45. must also be selected.
  46. *OPT WIDTH,A
  47. This gives the width of the window to be displayed, in characters.
  48. *OPT HEIGHT,A
  49. This gives the heigth of the window to be displayed, in characters.
  50. *OPT DIR,A
  51. This gives the direction in which the database is to be traversed, either
  52. forward or backward.

  54. Select the database you wish to load and press ENTER.
